The Role
As a key part of our recycling operation, you will carry out a wide variety of tasks to ensure the smooth and safe processing of waste materials received onto site, recovering recyclables and producing Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) through our Shredders. From operating mobile plant machinery and assisting with basic maintenance, to performing quality checks and keeping the site clean and safe, you’ll be a vital part of our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate mobile and fixed plant safely (e.g. 360 Materials Handler, Wheeled Loading Shovel, Telehandler, Fork Lift Truck, Shredder).
- Carry out cleaning, quality control, and recycling activities in line with of Standard Operating Procedures.
- Conduct daily equipment checks and report defects or maintenance needs in a timely manner.
- Work flexibly across tasks including traffic coordination and weighbridge support as necessary.
- Assist with sampling, analysis, and dispatch of RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel).
- Ensure full compliance with company health & safety procedures and standards.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Experience working in a production or recycling environment.
- Valid UK-recognised mobile plant licenses for Wheeled Material Handler and Loader Shovel (e.g., CPCS, Mentor) with recent experience.
- Strong team player with excellent communication and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety in the workplace.
Desirable:
- Basic maintenance skills.
- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent safety certification.
- Understanding of environmental waste licensing and duty of care regulations.
