Ambulance Care Assistant - Patient Transport Services

We are looking for compassionate, reliable individuals to provide non-emergency patient transport services. Whether you're experienced or looking for a new challenge, full training will be provided.
To apply, you must be able to:
- Commit to a one-week training course.
- Be available to start immediately following training, subject to all compliance checks being completed.
- Be prepared to cover weekends and bank holidays on a fair basis
The Role
As an Ambulance Care Assistant, you will transport low-dependency patients to and from treatment centres in a safe, comfortable and caring manner. You will provide a professional service based on the principles of C.R.E.W.S. – Caring, Responsive, Effective, Well Led and Safe.
Your friendly, reassuring approach and excellent customer service will help make a positive difference to every patient's journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport patients safely and comfortably to and from healthcare appointments.
- Treat every patient with dignity, respect and compassion.
- Assist patients in and out of the vehicle where required.
- Drive safely and considerately at all times.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and infection prevention.
- Use and care for vehicles and equipment responsibly.
- Keep the operations team informed of completed journeys or any changes.
- Be reliable, punctual and flexible to meet service requirements.
Requirements
- A caring, compassionate and professional attitude.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- A full UK manual driving licence held for a minimum of two years with no more than three penalty points.
- Aged 21 years or over (for insurance purposes).
- Good knowledge of the local area.
- Physically able to assist and move patients where required.
- An enhanced DBS check (cost covered).
- Ability to provide references covering the required period.
No previous ambulance or patient transport experience is necessary as full training and ongoing support will be provided.
