Roasting in Cambridge since 1984, here at Coffee World, we’re passionate about people and products, seeking to elevate and modernise the coffee shop environment. Located in a small industrial estate near Milton Country Park, we bring a new level of speciality coffee to the area, blending top quality coffee with sleek service for the ultimate customer experience.
The Espresso Bar opened in January of 2024, and having settled into our third year of service, we’re expanding our team of talented baristas. We’re looking for people who want to put their coffee skills to the test and expand their coffee knowledge.

Who we’re looking for:
- Previous experience within a specialty coffee environment
- Advanced Latte Art skills, with a rich and wholistic understanding of coffee
- A true team player, building trust-based relationships, both with staff and customers
- Driven to maintain operating standards with a high level of detail given to presentation
- Immaculate personal presentation and time keeping
- An ability to learn and adhere to our product, service and brand training playbooks
- Meticulous and adherent to health, safety and food hygiene standards, always
- Ability to assist the management team in creating and implementing strategies to grow our loyal customer base.
About The Role
As a Barista at Coffee World, you’ll be the heart of the guest experience, ensuring exceptional coffee and warm hospitality in a fast-paced environment. We offer a flexible schedule, with shifts running Monday to Sunday (07:30–17:30). Our commitment to work-life balance allows us to offer full or part time hours, a 20-38 hour workweek, shifts under 10 hours, across 4 days with evenings off.

- Keep things running smoothly in the shop
- Uphold our specialty coffee standards
- Create meaningful connections, recognising how hospitality and a great cup of coffee can positively change someone’s day
- Contribute to a welcoming environment, making guests feel at home and eager to return
- Be a true team player, supporting inclusivity and building relationships based on integrity and trust
- Stay knowledgeable, confidently answering guest queries on our coffee and retail offerings
- Work with composure and clarity, always seeking to elevate your work.
Compensations and Benefits
Work-life balance: Evenings off, 34-38 hour workweek, shifts under 10 hours
Training & Development: Skill-set training with our Head of Coffee within your first four weeks

Annual Leave: 28 days per calendar year (for full-time team members)

Pay: £12.80-£14.50 per hour
