Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Bar Shift Leader to oversee bar operations during scheduled shifts. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate bar staff during shifts to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Oversee food preparation and ensure all beverages are prepared according to company standards.
- Assist with cooking and food production when necessary, maintaining high culinary standards.
- Monitor the cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
- Serve customers promptly and courteously, addressing any concerns or special requests.
- Manage stock levels, place orders for supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
- Enforce health and safety policies, including food safety procedures and hygiene standards.
- Train new team members on service protocols, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and reconcile daily takings.
- Support the management team in implementing promotional activities or events.
Skills
- Proven experience in restaurant or hospitality environments, particularly within bars or similar settings.
- Strong leadership qualities with previous supervising or team management experience.
- Excellent knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
- Familiarity with food production processes and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods while maintaining high service standards.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Good communication skills to effectively lead staff and interact with guests.
- Experience in serving beverages, including cocktails or specialised drinks, is desirable.
- Knowledge of hospitality industry practices including hotel or barista experience is advantageous.
