We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Machinist to join an established and growing engineering and manufacturing business based in Cheadle, Staffordshire.
With over 50 years of engineering experience, the business provides high-quality manufactured components and assemblies to customers across a diverse range of industries, including automotive, rail, construction, lighting and medical.
The Role
As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC machinery to manufacture precision components from engineering drawings and specifications.
The role will include:
- Setting and operating CNC machining centres and CNC turning machinery
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Selecting and setting appropriate tooling and work-holding
- Producing components to required specifications and tolerances
- Carrying out tool changes and machine adjustments
- Inspecting components using a range of measuring equipment
- Identifying and resolving machining and quality issues
- Maintaining consistent quality throughout production
- Working to production schedules and deadlines
- Contributing to a clean, safe and organised workshop
- Supporting continuous improvement and efficient manufacturing processes
You will work on a varied range of components, from prototype and one-off work through to repeat and higher-volume production, machining both metal and precision plastic components.
CNC Machinery
The machine shop operates a varied range of CNC equipment, including:
- Doosan NHP6300
- Doosan 5700
- DAH LIH 610
- DAH LIH 720
- DAH LIH 1020A
- DAH LIH 1250
- DAH LIH 1450
- Hwacheon Hi-TECH 200B
Experience across both CNC milling and turning would be advantageous.
About You
We are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist who takes pride in producing high-quality work and has a strong understanding of machining processes.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience setting and operating CNC machinery
- Experience within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
- The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings
- Good knowledge of tooling, cutting conditions and machining processes
- Experience working to tight tolerances
- The ability to use standard inspection and measuring equipment
- A strong eye for detail and quality
- A methodical and reliable approach to your work
- Good problem-solving skills
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Hours:
- Monday to Thursday = 7am - 4pm & Friday = 7am - 1:00pm
Pay Rates (Dependant on experience) - Ranges listed below:
- Non Skilled = £12.71 - with progression after training
- Semi Skilled = £14.00 (loading and operating)
- Skilled = £15.00 - £16.00
- Programming / Setter - up to £17.00 - £18.00
Overtime is paid at a premium rate (and payable after completion of 39 hours).
If successful you will be employed under a temp to perm contract. You will serve a 12 week probation whilst employed by Blink Recruitment. During this probation you will be monitored on timekeeping and attendance along with work ethic and ability to work well as part of a team.
Once you have successfully completed the 12 weeks you will be transferred over a as a permanent employee.
