Role Overview
Due to continued business expansion, we are after a dedicated individual to join our Accounting team dealing with multiple streams of income in our electrical retail business.
The role is full-time, in person, based at our head office, just off the M55 near Blackpool, with easy vehicle access and parking. This is ideally suited for someone looking to grow within a successful business.
Working closely to and reporting to the Finance Manager you will be a highly motivated, astute individual, who can help move the business forward.
Role Purpose
The role is essential in providing accurate and timely information and will include the processing of financial transactions, customer payments and supplier purchase orders and invoices.
Responsibilities
- Reconciliation of customer payments ensuring review and follow up of discrepancies are completed in a timely manner
- Application of customer payments including adjustments for refunds, charges and fees
- Recording of customer refunds and associated stock movements
- Matching of supplier invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes and record goods received into relevant stock location
- Recording of supplier invoices/purchase ledger/payment runs
- Provide support within the finance team where necessary
- Work closely and effectively with all colleagues on any associated tasks
- Provide a high level of accuracy and attention to detail across all performed tasks
- Contribute to financial and statutory reporting where necessary
- Other ad-hoc accountancy related tasks including foreign currency transactions and credit control
Key Skills & Experience
- At least 2 years experience in a high volume transactional environment in the area of customer payment application
- Knowledge and experience of purchase ledger
- Knowledge and experience of Sage 50 accounts software
- Ability to work independently and within agreed timeframes for each task.
- Collaborative style, continually willing to support colleagues throughout the business.
- Highly numeric with good knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel (pivot tables and vlookups)
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong work ethic and sense of personal accountability.
- Ability to operate in a fast paced commercial environment, working with multiple tasks and priorities.
- Good communication skills with the ability to clearly express information with others.
