Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by clearing debris, leveling ground, and setting forms to ensure a solid foundation for paving.
- Lay bricks, concrete blocks, or stone pavers with precision, ensuring proper alignment and spacing for a smooth finish.
- Operate hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, and levels to achieve accurate placement and secure paving materials.
- Use power tools like compactors and saws safely and effectively to cut and shape paving materials as needed.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to interpret project plans, timelines, and specifications.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of waste materials responsibly.
- Conduct quality checks throughout the paving process to ensure durability, safety, and aesthetic standards are met.
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools essential for masonry work, including trowels, hammers, chisels, and levels.
- Experience in bricklaying and masonry techniques to create sturdy paved surfaces.
- Ability to operate power tools such as compactors, saws, and drills safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of carpentry principles useful for framing or setting forms during paving projects.
- Familiarity with roofing or welding is a plus for versatile construction tasks related to site preparation or structural support.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols when handling heavy equipment and working at heights or in confined spaces.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with physical stamina to perform demanding outdoor work consistently.
