The Role:
We are looking for a motivated, analytically minded individual with excellent communication skills, reinforcing the concept for change. As an Injection Mould Toolmaker, you will be responsible for the on time & accurate delivery of tools to meet tooling programmes safely and efficiently carrying out manufacture preparation, assembly, fitting and repair of both new and existing tools.
Daily duties and responsibilities will include:
- The manufacture, construction, maintenance and repair/refurbish of plastic, thermoset and compression mould tools to a high-quality standard.
- Fault finding, tool approval and modification of new and existing tooling
- Repair and maintenance of insert moulding tools and bolsters
- Monitoring the tools used on the manufacturing line to ensure efficient run rates and identify necessary repairs or possible improvements
- Attending machine/tooling breakdowns to identify the root cause and solve the problem
- Work as part of a team to ensure cell targets for delivery, quality and efficiency are met.
- Actively participate in and facilitating continuous improvement on tooling.
- Work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, department procedures and company policy.
- Maintain and update relevant documentation.
- Handle lifting equipment
- Ensure all working procedures and instructions are followed and up to date.
- Ensuring all machines are safe and fit for purpose.
- Analysis of downtime and developing solutions to improve production.
- Preform basic machine maintenance (TPM Level 1 & 2), reporting any more technical problems to the maintenance team.
- Monitor and maintain high standards of housekeeping.
- Undertake Training if required.
- Any other ad-hoc duties as required
Experience / Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be time served and have proven experience as a Toolmaker, ideally within the plastic injection or compression mould industry, with a forklift and/or overhead crane driver license.
- Proficient in the use of machinery such as lathes, drills, grinding, milling, spark eroding & CNC machines etc.
- Ability to interpret requirements & communicate with the management team
- Use of precision measurement instruments such as micrometres, gauges and vernier callipers
- Experience working with multi core and cavity tooling
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as contributing to team and companywide strategy.
- Good bench hand skills
- Confident with detailed drawings
- Computer literate and highly proficient in use of CAD and Office applications
Pay: £15.00-£18.00 per hour
