At Burnfield Care Home, our Care Support Workers are essential members of the team, providing high-quality, front-line personal care and practical support tailored to each resident’s individual needs. Care Support Workers are responsible for delivering consistently high standards of care, demonstrating compassion and empathy at all times. The role involves reporting to senior staff and management and working collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals where required.
Requirements
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal and transferable skills relevant to care
- Previous experience in care is desirable but not essential
Working Patterns:
- Full-time: 7.5-hour shifts (early and late) on a 5-out-of-7-day rota
- Part-time: 7.5-hour shifts (early and late) on a 2, 3 or 4-out-of-7-day rota
- Rota issued 4 weeks in advance
- Mixed shift pattern including:
- Early shift: 7.30am – 3.00pm
- Late shift: 1.30pm – 9.00pm
- Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of appointment
- Compliance with current care legislation and professional standards set by the Care Inspectorate and SSSC
Qualifications
- SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care is desirable but not essential
- Full training will be provided
- A willingness to work towards relevant qualifications is expected
Key Responsibilities
- Support residents’ emotional, cultural and social needs through a person-centred approach
- Provide physical assistance where required
- Deliver care with dignity, compassion and responsiveness to changing needs
- Build positive professional relationships with residents, families and friends
- Support and work collaboratively with fellow care staff
