Job Introduction
Scrum Master – Digital
Salary £45,000 to £50,000 depending on experience

Hybrid Home & Folkestone
Our central digital team are looking for a certified Scrum Master. This is a newly created role to support the team to become fully agile across day-to-day work and projects. You will be working closely with our Head of Digital, Product Managers, Data Analysts, CRO, Web Managers and UX / UI experts.
You’ll be able to have an instant impact in this team, as they are keen to improve processes and work in a disciplined agile way. You will be able to improve cross-team coordination and delivery governance, helping our team deliver higher-quality outcomes and faster time-to-value across the digital change pipeline here at Saga.
It’s truly a role where you can make a difference! You will be key to building out our agile maturity and capability within the team through coaching, lightweight process improvements and continuous improvement actions that are embedded into day-to-day delivery.
We work in a hybrid way at Saga both at home and in the office. In this team we work mainly from Folkestone 2 to 3 times a week and meet up in the London office about once a month. Folkestone will be your allocated office. Any travel costs to London will be covered when a meeting or event takes place there.
Main Responsibilities
As our new Scrum Master, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the digital team ensuring the effective approach for agile values and sprint outcomes as well as managing the pipeline of change work to be delivered. Responsible for the removal of obstacles, relationships with product managers and the effective delivery of agile principles within Digital change. You will be:
- Using agile methodology values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver solutions
- Training, mentoring, and supporting the digital team to follow agile values, principles, and practices
- Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment
- Manage incoming demand prior to sprint
- Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution in pursuit of product delivery
- Determining and managing tasks, issues, risks, and action items
- Scheduling and facilitating scrum events, meetings, and decision-making processes
- Monitoring progress and performance and helping teams to make improvements
- Planning and organising demos and product/system testing
- Tracking project processes, deliverables, and financials.
- Preparing and presenting status reports to stakeholders and Group Change Steering forum
The Ideal Candidate
Proven experience of change delivery and analysis
- Demonstrable experience of Agile principles and development methodologies
- Experience with working with digital CX programmes
- Qualification in scrum (CSM) advantageous
- Experience with management tools such as JIRA / monday.com or similar
- Communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts
(such as definition of done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement)
- Problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability
