We are looking to recruit Care Assistants to join our highly trained and caring team, within our caring nursing home, situated in St Ann's, Nottingham.
Duties & Responsibilities:
This role involves the following duties & responsibilities
- Support residents with personal care including washing, dressing, toileting and mobility.
- Deliver care in line with individual care plans, ensuring resident's preferences and choices are respected.
- Promote independence wherever possible, supporting residents to maintain their skills and abilities.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to residents, particularly those who may be anxious or living with dementia.
- To observe and monitor residents physical and emotional wellbeing.
- Report any changes in condition, behaviour or wellbeing to senior staff promptly.
- Maintain clear and accurate records of care provided.
- Support residents with eating and drinking where required. Ensure residents receive meals appropriate to their needs and preferences. Monitor and report changes in appetite or fluid intake.
- Communicate effectively with residents, relatives, colleagues and other professionals.
- Follow care plans, risk assessments and moving and handling procedures.
- Awareness of safeguarding and confidentiality.
- Work in accordance with Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Report accidents, incidents and hazards promptly.
The list of duties is not exhaustive but outlines the main regular parts of the role. Other reasonable duties may be requested by home manager or senior members of staff.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience in a similar role is a distinct advantage, however entry-level candidates will be considered as full training is provided.
- Although previous experience is not essential, all applicants must be reliable and have strong communication skills.
- Successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced disclosure which the expense will be met by the applicant.
