Class 2 HIAB Driver – Roofing Supplies
M&J Roofing Supplies Ltd are a local, family-run roofing materials supplier looking for an experienced Class 2 (Category C) HGV Driver with HIAB/remote-control crane experience to join our team at our Aldershot branch (GU12 4AA).
You will be driving a DAF LF55 with an automatic gearbox, fitted with a HIAB crane and remote control.
The ideal candidate
You must have:
- A valid Category C (Class 2) driving licence
- A current CPC
- A clean driving licence
- Previous experience operating a remote-control HIAB/crane
- Good timekeeping and reliability
- Good attention to detail
- Good customer service and communication skills
- The physical fitness required to occasionally move roofing materials by hand
Knowledge of the local area would be useful.
Roofing experience is not essential, although knowledge of roofing materials and construction products would be an advantage.
The job
The role will include:
- Local deliveries from our depot to building sites, typically 1–3 drops per day
- Strapping and securing your own loads
- Deciding how loads are best arranged and loaded
- Operating the HIAB crane to safely offload materials on site
- Local collections
- Collecting stock from suppliers
- Transferring stock between our branches
- Helping in the yard and preparing customer orders when deliveries are not required
Most deliveries will be unloaded using the crane, but there will be occasions where materials need to be moved manually, so a reasonable level of physical fitness is required.
Hours & Salary
Monday to Friday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
Salary: £31,000 per year
This is a local driving role with no regular long-distance work.
