About the Role
Kerala Ayurveda Clinic is an established independent healthcare clinic in Leicester, providing private healthcare services since 2006. We are seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Ayurveda Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high standard of professional practice, sound knowledge of Ayurveda, excellent manual therapy skills and the ability to support the day-to-day operation of the clinic.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake patient consultations, assessments and treatment planning within the scope of professional practice.
- Deliver individualised treatment programmes based on Ayurvedic principles and clinical assessment.
- Perform Ayurvedic treatments including:
- Abhyanga
- Podikizhi (Herbal Bag Treatment)
- Shirodhara
- Kativasti
- Greevavasti
- Januvasti
- Nasyam
- Indian Head, Neck & Shoulder Treatment
- Deliver manual treatment techniques including Sports Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Soft Tissue Release, Myofascial Release and Joint Mobilisation.
- Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
- Support the day-to-day administration of the clinic, including patient records, appointments and general administrative duties.
- Maintain treatment rooms, equipment and clinical resources to a professional standard.
- Comply with clinic policies, infection prevention and control procedures, health and safety requirements and professional standards.
- Use Microsoft Office applications to support clinical and administrative responsibilities.
- Contribute to the clinic's digital presence, including social media and educational content, where required.
- Work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team and maintain a high standard of patient care.
Essential Criteria
- Recognised professional qualification in Ayurveda or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role.
- Minimum two years' post-qualification clinical experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Ayurvedic principles, herbal formulations and traditional treatment procedures.
- Competence in manual therapy, Sports Massage, Deep Tissue Massage and Myofascial Release.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook and basic Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in Cupping Therapy.
- Experience in Acupuncture.
- Previous experience working within an independent healthcare clinic or multidisciplinary practice.
- Experience supporting clinic administration and maintaining patient records.
- Experience contributing to social media or digital communications in a professional environment.
- Commitment to continuing professional development.
