Requirements:
- Must have NVQ L2 in Carpentry
- Large vehicle for tools and materials
- DBS dated within the last 3 years
Duties:
- Install, adjust, and repair fire-rated doors, frames, and hardware according to project specifications and safety regulations
- Fabricate custom door components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques when necessary
- Conduct inspections of fire doors to verify proper operation, seal integrity, and compliance with fire safety standards
- Maintain detailed records of installations, repairs, and inspections for compliance documentation
Skills:
- Proven experience in carpentry with a focus on fire door installation and maintenance
- Strong knowledge of construction processes including masonry, roofing, plumbing, electrical systems, and general fabrication
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and construction-specific machinery
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately for precise installation work
- Familiarity with building codes related to fire safety and door hardware standards
- Experience working with construction materials such as plastering compounds and masonry supplies
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly on-site
