Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Mentor to support the educational and personal development of young people at our Primary and Secondary Alternative Provision.
The successful candidate will work closely with students to foster confidence, resilience, and academic progress.
Responsibilities
- Provide personalised mentoring sessions to students, focusing on their academic, social, and emotional needs
- Support pupils with special educational needs by adapting approaches to suit individual learning styles
- Assist in developing tailored learning plans and behaviour management strategies
- Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging motivation and self-esteem
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to monitor progress and address challenges
- Organise group activities that promote teamwork, confidence, and life skills
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and mentoring sessions
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment conducive to learning and personal growth
Experience
- Previous experience in teaching, youth work, or mentoring roles is highly desirable
- Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is advantageous
- Knowledge of effective mentoring techniques and behaviour management strategies
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate young learners
- Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- A genuine passion for supporting young people's development and well-being
Pay: From £22,500.00 per year
