Just graduated? This is a wonderful first teaching post. We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic Nursery Early Years Teacher to join our friendly team, leading learning for children aged 0–4. Newly qualified graduates are very welcome to apply - you will be supported and mentored from your first day.
At Bojangles Day Nursery, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued and inspired. Set in a beautiful rural location in Baschurch, our nursery offers children the freedom to explore, play and learn in a nurturing woodland environment. As part of our small, dedicated team, you will play a key role in shaping the early experiences that matter most.
Your responsibilities
- Leading the learning and teaching within your room, planning a curriculum that is ambitious, playful and rooted in each child's interests
- Acting as a Key Person for a group of children, building secure and trusting relationships with each child and their family
- Planning and delivering stimulating, age-appropriate activities across all seven areas of the EYFS framework, including Communication and Language, Physical Development, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts and Design
- Observing, assessing and recording children's progress using the observation–assessment–planning cycle, identifying next steps for each child's learning and development
- Modelling high-quality interactions and sustained shared thinking, and supporting colleagues to do the same as your confidence grows
- Supporting children's personal care needs with sensitivity and respect, including nappy changing, toileting and mealtimes
- Creating and maintaining an enabling indoor and outdoor learning environment that encourages curiosity, exploration and independent play
- Building positive partnerships with parents and carers, providing regular updates on their child's progress and wellbeing
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, contributing to a positive and professional team culture
- Following all safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures, recognising and responding appropriately to any signs of concern
- Supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), working alongside the setting's SENCO and external professionals where required
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the room
- Promoting healthy eating, physical activity and good hygiene practices
What we are looking for
- A genuine passion for early years education and child development
- A degree in Early Childhood Studies, Early Years Education or a related subject - or Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS) or QTS with an early years specialism
- Experience of working with children aged 0–4, including placements undertaken as part of your studies - newly qualified graduates are encouraged to apply
- Strong working knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Current enhanced DBS check on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
- Current Paediatric First Aid certificate, or willingness to obtain one before your start date
