Location: Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire (commutable from Derby, Uttoxeter, Lichfield, Swadlincote & Ashbourne)

The Opportunity
We're working with a well-established bespoke joinery manufacturer looking to appoint a Technical Designer to join their growing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in bespoke joinery, furniture or interior fit-out who enjoys solving technical challenges and wants to make a genuine impact within the business.
As well as producing high-quality manufacturing drawings, you'll play an important role in helping the company introduce and develop a new CAD/design system. Because of this, we're keen to speak with candidates who have experience using any recognised technical drawing software. The company is open-minded on CAD packages and will provide support during the transition to their chosen platform.
Responsibilities
- Produce accurate technical and manufacturing drawings for bespoke joinery projects.
- Develop detailed production information for the workshop.
- Liaise with clients, project managers and production teams to ensure designs are practical and deliverable.
- Assist with the implementation of a new CAD/design system.
- Help improve design processes and workflows.
- Support projects from initial survey and concept through to manufacture.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a Technical Designer, CAD Designer or similar position.
- Experience within bespoke joinery, furniture manufacturing, cabinetry, shopfitting or interior fit-out.
- Confident producing manufacturing drawings.
- Experience using any technical drawing software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, Solid Edge, Microvellum, Cabinet Vision, TopSolid, Fusion 360 or similar.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive attitude with an interest in improving systems and processes.
