Job Summary
The Assheton Arms is seeking a friendly and professional Bartender/Waitress to join our vibrant team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service in a lively pub environment, ensuring guests enjoy a memorable experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for serving drinks and food, taking orders, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. Previous hospitality experience is preferred, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally valued. The position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within the hospitality industry while working in a dynamic setting.
Duties
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers in accordance with company standards
- Take food and drink orders efficiently and accurately, ensuring prompt service
- Serve food to guests at their tables or at the bar, maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments using the POS system
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar and dining areas, including clearing tables and sanitising surfaces
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and responsible alcohol service policies
- Engage with guests in a friendly manner, providing recommendations and answering queries about menu items
- Assist in setting up and closing down the bar area at the beginning and end of shifts
Skills
- Strong hospitality skills with a focus on customer service excellence
- Knowledge of food safety standards and responsible alcohol service
- Ability to serve efficiently under pressure during busy periods
- Good organisational skills with effective time management to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Previous experience in a restaurant or pub environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Friendly demeanour with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team while also being self-motivated and independent when required
Pay: Up to £12.71 per hour
