Job Overview:
We are looking for carers to support with a 24-hour care package for an individual with dementia in Plympton. This care package can be split into 12-hour shifts but we are also flexible with looking at different shift patterns to suit. This can be 07:00 - 19:00 day or 19:00 - 07:00 waking nights. which can be discussed at interview. You will be responsible for providing care and support to the individual in need. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on someone's life.
Responsibilities:
-Administering medication
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individual
- Assist with personal hygiene
- Engage in meaningful conversations and activities with individual
- Monitor and report any changes in the individual's condition or behaviour
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for the individual
- Follow care plans and instructions provided by supervisors
- Assist to accessing the community
- Previous dementia experience preferred
Experience:
- Previous experience in care-giving or a related field is preferred
- Compassionate and empathetic nature
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Patience and understanding when dealing with individuals who may have physical or cognitive limitations
Please note that this is not a live-in position. The working hours for sits will be discussed during the interview process.
