Overview
Plus Care Givers is a CQC-registered care provider supporting people to live safely, independently and with dignity in their own homes and supported living settings.
We are looking for reliable, caring and professional Care Assistants / Support Workers to join our growing team across Nelson, Colne, Burnley, Pendle, Blackburn with Darwen and surrounding areas.
You will provide person-centred support based on each individual’s needs, preferences and care plan. This may include personal care, help with daily routines, meal preparation, medication support, companionship, community access and encouraging independence.
We welcome applications from experienced care workers as well as people who are new to care and have the right attitude, values and willingness to learn. Relevant training and ongoing support will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, person-centred care and support in line with individual care plans
- Assist with personal care, including washing, dressing, grooming and continence support where required
- Support individuals with meals, hydration and everyday household tasks
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Support individuals to access the community, attend appointments and take part in activities
- Encourage independence, choice and involvement in day-to-day life
- Support with medication in line with training, care plans and company procedures
- Observe and report any changes in an individual’s health, wellbeing or circumstances
- Maintain accurate and timely care records using our care management system
- Communicate professionally with individuals, families, colleagues and other professionals
- Follow safeguarding, infection control, confidentiality, health and safety and other company policies
- Attend training, supervision and team meetings as required
What We’re Looking For

- Reliable and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to follow care plans, policies and professional boundaries
- Basic IT skills for completing electronic care records
- Previous experience in domiciliary care, supported living or health and social care is desirable but not essential
- A Care Certificate or relevant Health & Social Care qualification is desirable but not essential
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred, particularly for domiciliary care work
- Flexibility to work a mixture of shifts, which may include mornings, evenings and weekends
