Job Description:
We are currently seeking a compassionate and flexible Bank Care Assistant or Bank Senior Care Assistant to join our dedicated team in a welcoming nursing home environment.
This is a bank position offering flexible shifts, including 8am–8pm day shifts, 8pm–8am night shifts, and a range of shorter shifts to suit service needs and availability. However, ideally the best candidate would be able to do night shifts as these are more in demand at the moment.
About the Role:
As a Care Assistant, you will deliver high-quality care in line with the best practice and legislative requirements, under the guidance of the Senior Carer or Nurse. You will play a vital role in supporting residents to live fulfilling, dignified, and independent lives through person-centred care tailored to each individual.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide care and support in accordance with agreed standards, policies, and procedures. Meanwhile, following individual care plans and contribute to their ongoing review
- Deliver person-centred care that respects each resident’s preferences, choices, and individuality
- Support residents in maintaining daily living skills, hobbies, and personal interests
- Assist in promoting independence, dignity, and overall wellbeing
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of all residents at all times
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues
- Encourage and support residents to maintain connections with family, friends, and the local community
- Monitor and report any changes in residents’ needs or wellbeing to the Senior Carer or Nurse
- Contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the service
The ideal candidate is:
- Caring, kind, and patient with a genuine passion for supporting others
- Reliable and flexible, with the ability to work a variety of shifts
- A strong team player with good communication skills
- Committed to maintaining and developing your skills through ongoing training
- Previous care experience is desirable (especially for Senior roles), but not essential as training can be provided
