Background and Purpose of the Role
The FAW has three National Training Centres: its Elite Centre and HQ at the Vale Resort Hensol; and two National Development Centres at Dragon Park in Newport and Colliers Park in Wrexham.
This is a casual role based at Elite Centre and HQ Hensol. The Facility Assistant will also be responsible, as part of the facilities team, for the smooth running of Elite Centre and HQ Hensol from a day-to-day perspective. The role will involve evening and weekend work, with approx.. 8 hour shifts between he hours of 07.00 - 21.00.
Key areas of Accountability/Responsibility
Facility Management
- Working closely with the Facility Manager in several areas including:
- Assisting with the day-to-day operation of the office and facility including monitoring condition and upkeep of the building
- Open and close of the building where required.
- Ensure high levels of cleanliness across the site.
- Organise and prepare conference and meeting room bookings.
- Assist in the set-up of pitches and training equipment.
- Provide facility support during National Team Training Camps
Front of house duties
- Building strong relationships with staff and external stakeholders who use the Elite Centre and HQ
- Providing customer support when able or redirecting to relevant department
- Taking detailed messages where necessary
- Greeting visitors as they arrive and connecting them with the appropriate party.
- Keeping the front of house area tidy and organised, including the reception area, kitchen and meeting rooms
- Monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness.
- Handle incoming and outgoing deliveries and post
Administration
- Administration support for the Facility Manager, as required
Person Specification
Qualifications / Experience
- Experience working in a sport or leisure environment
- Keen interest in sports and leisure
Skills / Knowledge
- Exceptional customer service skills
- A ‘can do’ attitude and ability to work independently
- Ability to multi-task and good organisational skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office package
- Basic facilities or H&S management experience (desirable)
Role Specific Requirements
- The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check for regulated activity
- Willingness to work flexibly and unsociable hours as and when required including evenings and weekends.
- The ability to speak Welsh would be an advantage
- You will be part of a pool of casual facility staff and hours are not guaranteed
