The Role
As a Nursery Nurse, you will play an important role in providing high-quality care, learning and development opportunities for children within the nursery.
Working as part of a supportive and experienced team, you will help create a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment where children feel happy, secure and encouraged to learn and develop.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-quality care and support to children throughout the nursery day.
- Building warm, positive and trusting relationships with children.
- Planning and supporting engaging activities and experiences in line with the EYFS framework.
- Supporting children's individual learning, development and wellbeing.
- Creating a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure children's needs are consistently met.
- Developing positive relationships with parents and carers and communicating effectively about children's progress and wellbeing.
- Ensuring high standards of hygiene, health and safety are maintained.
- Following nursery policies and procedures, particularly those relating to safeguarding and child protection.
- Observing and recording children's learning and development in line with nursery procedures.
- Contributing positively to the wider nursery team and supporting colleagues when required.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years Childcare qualification (or equivalent). *Please note that standalone Health & Social Care qualifications do not meet the qualification requirements for this position *
- Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Previous experience within a nursery, preschool or other Early Years setting.
- A good understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A caring, enthusiastic and positive approach to supporting children's learning and development.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
