Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Teacher to join our vibrant school. The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing students across various dance styles, fostering a positive learning environment, and inspiring dancers of all ages and skill levels. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop students’ technical skills while promoting confidence and enjoyment through dance. The Dance Teacher will contribute to creating an engaging, inclusive, and professional atmosphere that encourages artistic growth and personal development.
Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging dance lessons tailored to different age groups and skill levels, including beginner, intermediate, and advanced students.
- Demonstrate proper technique, posture, and movement to ensure safe practice and effective learning.
- Provide personalised feedback and encouragement to help students improve their skills and build confidence.
- Organise choreography for performances and showcases as required.
- Maintain a safe studio environment by ensuring equipment and flooring are in good condition and adhering to health and safety standards.
- Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that motivates students to achieve their personal best.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop new programmes or workshops that enhance the studio’s offerings.
Experience
- Proven experience teaching dance in a professional setting is preferred; however, enthusiastic beginners with relevant training will also be considered.
- Strong knowledge of various dance styles such as ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop or tap is desirable.but a muscial theatre focus is a must!
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire students of all ages.
- Relevant qualifications in dance or performing arts are advantageous but not essential if accompanied by practical teaching experience.
- A passion for dance education coupled with patience, creativity, and organisational skills are essential for success in this role.
