SENDhelp is recruiting a full-time SEN Teacher for an all-ages specialist school in Wallington. This role is suitable for a qualified teacher with previous experience teaching children or young people with special educational needs.
The school supports pupils across a wide age range, so experience from early years, primary, secondary or post-16 education will be considered. Qualified Teacher Status and previous SEN teaching experience are essential.

As an SEN Teacher, you will plan and deliver structured, engaging lessons that are adapted to pupils' individual learning, communication and developmental needs.
You will support pupils who may be working below age-related expectations or who require additional help with communication, emotional regulation, social interaction or independence. The successful teacher will be confident differentiating lessons, assessing progress and creating a calm, consistent classroom environment.
You will work closely with Teaching Assistants, school leaders and other professionals to help pupils make meaningful progress and work towards their educational and EHCP outcomes.
Planning and delivering differentiated lessons for pupils with SEN
Adapting teaching methods, activities and resources to individual needs
Assessing, recording and reporting on pupil progress
Supporting pupils to work towards personalised learning and EHCP targets
Creating a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment
Providing clear guidance to Teaching Assistants and support staff
Managing behaviour positively and consistently
Supporting pupils with communication, emotional regulation and independence
Working collaboratively with colleagues, families and relevant professionals
Maintaining accurate planning, assessment and safeguarding records
Qualified Teacher Status
Previous experience teaching children or young people with special educational needs
Strong knowledge of differentiated and inclusive teaching
The ability to plan lessons for pupils working at different levels
Effective classroom and behaviour-management skills
Good communication and teamwork skills
A patient, reliable and consistent approach
A clear commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare
Experience may have been gained within an early years, primary, secondary, further education or all-ages SEN setting.
