Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Plant Fitter to join our dynamic team in Stirling. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and assembling a variety of plant equipment and machinery to ensure optimal operational performance. Your expertise will help keep our facilities running smoothly, supporting the safe and efficient operation of heavy machinery and plant systems. Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on plant equipment, including drill rigs, excavators, forklifts, and other heavy machinery
- Repair and replace mechanical components using fabrication, welding, soldering, and assembly techniques
- Interpret technical schematics and electrical diagrams to diagnose issues accurately
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to perform repairs and modifications
- Assist with equipment upgrades, fabrication projects, and custom modifications as needed
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used to ensure compliance and traceability
Requirements
- Hold a relevant SVQ or City and Guilds qualification
- Proven experience in plant maintenance and repair, fabrication, welding, soldering
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in assembly and equipment repair
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, drill rigs, forklifts, excavators, and other heavy machinery safely
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures for industrial plant equipment
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and working in demanding environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to repairs
