At an exciting time of growth at our Crewkerne production site, we are looking at candidates to join our Fruit PM shift (Mon-Fri 14:00-22:00) in the Skilled Operator role.
You will be responsible for the preparation, cooking and packing of fruit products across the production department. The role involves operating production equipment, following food safety and CCP requirements, carrying out manual handling, and stacking duties, and ensuring all production activities are completed safely and efficiently. The role also requires accurate completion and signing of production and quality documentation, while maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, quality and health & safety.
You will be happy to work in a fast-paced production environment. Full training is provided, although if you have worked in food manufacturing before, that would be an advantage. There is scope to increase the hourly pay once further training has been completed.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Cook fruit in accordance with production requirements and specifications.
- Pack finished products while adhering to all identified (CCPs).
- Safely stack and organise raw materials, packaging and finished products.
- Carry out manual handling and lifting duties in accordance with health and safety procedures.
- Complete and sign all required production and quality documentation.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, quality, and health & safety at all times.
- Excellent communication skills
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Ability to work in a physically demanding role
- A personal commitment to maintaining the highest safety & hygiene standards
- Highly engaged, a good team player
- An ability to work unsupervised
- Able to follow instructions and procedures
