Overview
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Paint and Body Repair Technician to join our professional team. The ideal candidate must be IMI qualified or ATA accredited or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years experience in all aspects of vehicle preparation, body work panel repairs, colour matching, painting and polishing for accident repairs to hte highest of standards including insurance work. Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicles for painting by sanding, masking, and priming surfaces to ensure optimal finish quality
- Apply paint, lacquer, or other coatings using spray guns or brushes, ensuring an even and professional appearance
- Repair dents, scratches, and structural damage using specialised tools and techniques
- Remove damaged panels or parts and replace them with new or refurbished components
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively for disassembly, assembly, and repair tasks
- Conduct quality inspections to verify repairs meet safety standards and customer expectations
- Maintain a clean and organised work area in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Assist with heavy lifting of vehicle parts or panels as required to ensure efficient workflow
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to automotive systems and repair procedures
- Proficiency with hand tools such as screwdrivers, hammers, and wrenches
- Experience using power tools including drills, grinders, and spray equipment
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle components or materials
- Attention to detail to achieve precise repairs and high-quality finishes
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently within tight deadlines
- Prior experience in automotive bodywork or painting is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
