ACTIVITIES CO-ORDINATOR – Safe Harbor Care Homes
£400 Starting Bonus* | Competitive Pay | Free Parking | Discounted Meals | Training + Development
Safe Harbor is a family-run provider of Residential and Residential Dementia Care Homes across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire. We’re proud of the supportive culture in our homes and the standards we continue to build—quality, dignity, safety, and person-centred care, every day.
Our values (how we work)
- Together: Residents and staff at the heart of everything we do. Strong relationships with residents, families and each other
- Safe: Safety as the foundation—robust care planning and continuous review
- Improving: Always learning, listening and raising standards
- Compassion: Individualised, gentle, respectful care
We’re looking for an Activities Co-ordinator who can bring energy, creativity and organisation—someone who can run brilliant in-home events and help us deliver our goal of weekly trips out, supported by strong community links.
The role (what you’ll be doing)
- Planning and delivering interesting, stimulating and enjoyable activities aligned to residents’ preferences and person-centred care plans
- Organising and facilitating in-house events and outings/trips (with a focus on building a consistent programme of weekly trips out)
- Building relationships with the local community—performers, venues, groups, businesses and volunteers—to expand opportunities for residents
- Producing and maintaining an activities planner, working within an agreed budget
- Encouraging and involving care staff to support activities, helping residents to live meaningful and fulfilling lives
- Completing accurate records: activity notes, care plan updates and relevant paperwork/audits
- Supporting relatives, friends and sponsors to be involved where appropriate
- Acting openly and professionally at all times, and speaking up if you have any safeguarding concerns
What we’re looking for
- A creative, organised person who can run activities and keep on top of planning, budgets and documentation
- Confidence to coordinate trips and events end-to-end (planning, risk awareness, logistics, communication)
- Strong written communication and attention to detail—accurate record keeping is essential
- A warm, people-first approach and the ability to engage residents (including those living with dementia)
- A proactive, community-minded attitude—comfortable reaching out and building local partnerships
- Right to work in the UK — applicants must not require sponsorship now or in the future
What you’ll get at Safe Harbor
- £400 “Golden Hello” starting bonus*
- Free parking
- Discounted meals
- Refer-a-friend bonus*
- Training online and face-to-face, plus ongoing development
- Regular supervisions and support from a team that values quality and communication
- Recognition and appreciation initiatives (including staff awards and team treats)
- A provider that is actively investing in improvements across our homes
Working hours
To be agreed with the Registered Manager (role can be tailored per home)
If you love creating moments that matter—and you’re the kind of person who can turn ideas into well-run events and trips—this is a brilliant role to make a real difference.
