Operations
An excellent
opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Firefighter at Leeds Bradford Airport. On
successful completion of all training, you will become part of a unique team of
specialist Firefighters who are key to the continued success and safe operation
of the business
Role
purpose
To undertake Rescue and Firefighting work and general
airfield duties, whilst training you will be required to work day hours only.
Once fully qualified all fire crew are required to work on a 24-hour rotating
shift rota.
Principal Accountabilities / Main Responsibilities:
- Provide Firefighting
assistance to save life at an aircraft accident as required.
- Undertake
rescue and firefighting duties in line with Aerodrome regulation UK Reg (EU)
139/2014 standards and senior Fire service management.
- Adherence
to Civilian Aviation publication CAP 699 Standards for Competency of Rescue and
Firefighting Service personnel throughout your career.
Provide
first aid assistance.
Carry
out vehicle and equipment checks to maintain an immediate response of the
Airport Fire service.
Comply
with all legal and statutory obligations applicable to this role.
Undertake
other general airfield duties, bird control and surface inspection duties
as required.
Airfield
pavement marking as required.
Undertake
any other duties required by LBA during the hours of operation.
Essential qualifications
- Good
standard of education.
- A
passion for safety and helping others.
- Further
education Accreditations from a trade or similar background.
- Current
UK driving Licence free from excessive penalties.
- High
level of physical fitness required to successfully pass recruit testing.
- An
enthusiastic and optimistic manner, Effective communicator, capable of team
working, committed and dedicated to achieving and maintaining high personal
standards.
