Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating excavators safely and efficiently on various projects, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and within designated timeframes. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, contributing to the successful delivery of infrastructure and development projects.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and related heavy machinery in accordance with safety protocols and project specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist with site preparation, excavation, trenching, and material handling tasks.
- Follow detailed instructions from site supervisors to execute project plans effectively.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring safety standards are upheld at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate activities and optimise workflow.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Skills
- Proven experience operating excavators in a construction environment.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs on machinery.
- Valid commercial driving licence preferred for transporting equipment or materials between sites.
- Strong understanding of site safety procedures and regulations.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
- Physical fitness to handle demanding tasks and operate heavy machinery for extended periods.
