Job Summary
Due to continued growth and expansion, we are seeking an experienced DSEAR (Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations) Consultant to join our established Process Safety Consultancy team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with safety standards, conducting risk assessments, and developing safety systems within industrial environments. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with a strong background in Chemical engineering, and process safety, to contribute to safe and efficient operations across various sectors.
About the Role
You will be responsible for delivering DSEAR-related services across various industrial sectors, supporting clients in achieving and maintaining compliance with UK legislation. The role involves travel to client sites across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct DSEAR risk assessments in line with UK regulations
- Hazardous area classification (ATEX zoning)
- Review, update, and author Explosion Protection Document (EPD) as required
- Provide practical, risk-based compliance advice
- Liaise directly with clients and stakeholders
- Support wider process safety projects as required
- Prepare and update HAC drawings.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in DSEAR and process safety
- Strong working knowledge of UK DSEAR regulations and ATEX directives
- Experience in hazardous area classification and explosion risk assessment
- UK resident with full right to work in the UK
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel to client sites
Desirable
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Safety, or related discipline
- Membership of relevant professional body (e.g. IChemE)
- Experience across multiple high-hazard industries
