Production Supervisor
Location: Trilogiq UKJob Type: Full-time, PermanentDepartment: Production / OperationsReports to: Country Manager
About Trilogiq
Trilogiq specialises in the design and manufacture of modular material handling and workplace solutions for customers across manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, logistics and other industrial sectors.
Our UK operation designs and assembles bespoke solutions including trolleys, workstations, flow racks, shelving, material handling equipment and other custom-built systems using aluminium, steel and modular component systems.
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Production Supervisor to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our UK production area and lead a small production team.
The Role
This is a practical, hands-on supervisory position. You will be responsible for coordinating production activities, managing workload and priorities, maintaining quality and ensuring customer orders are manufactured accurately and on time.
Alongside supervising the team, you will be expected to actively participate in production, including assembly, CNC router operation, material preparation and general workshop activities.
You will work closely with our design and commercial teams to ensure technical drawings and customer requirements are translated into high-quality finished products.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a small production/assembly team.
- Plan and allocate daily production workload based on customer deadlines and business priorities.
- Assemble modular aluminium, steel and component-based products from technical drawings.
- Read, interpret and work accurately from engineering and technical drawings.
- Operate and oversee the safe use of the CNC router.
- Cut, prepare and assemble materials and components to the required specifications.
- Operate forklifts for loading, unloading and movement of materials.
- Ensure completed products meet the required quality standards before dispatch.
- Identify drawing, material or production issues and work with the design team to resolve them.
- Monitor production progress and communicate potential delays or problems to management.
- Maintain an organised, clean and efficient production environment.
- Ensure tools, machinery and equipment are maintained and used correctly.
- Support stock control, material management and regular stock checks.
- Identify material shortages and communicate requirements before they impact production.
- Ensure health & safety procedures, risk assessments and safe working practices are followed.
- Train, develop and support production team members.
- Encourage a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to improve production methods, efficiency, quality and workshop organisation.
- Support Lean, 5S and continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.
- Assist with packing, loading and dispatch when required.
Essential Requirements
The successful candidate must have:
- Previous experience within an assembly, manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong experience reading and interpreting technical/engineering drawings.
- Previous experience supervising or leading a small production team.
- Experience operating a CNC router or similar CNC machinery.
- A valid forklift licence, ideally with experience operating a Combi-Lift / multidirectional forklift.
- Good practical and mechanical aptitude.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment.
- Good understanding of production quality standards and attention to detail.
- Ability to organise and prioritise multiple jobs against customer deadlines.
- Good communication skills and the confidence to lead a small team.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the willingness to get involved wherever required.
Desirable Experience
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
- Aluminium profile or modular assembly systems.
- Tube and bracket / lean manufacturing systems.
- Cutting and machining aluminium, plastics, timber or composite materials.
- Working within a low-volume, high-variation or bespoke manufacturing environment.
- Stock control and inventory management.
- Lean manufacturing, 5S or Kaizen.
- Basic computer skills and experience using ERP/MRP or production management systems.
- Health & Safety responsibilities within a workshop or manufacturing environment.
- Experience working directly with design/engineering teams.
What We’re Looking For
This role would suit someone who enjoys being hands-on while also taking responsibility for a team and production area.
Trilogiq manufactures a wide variety of bespoke products rather than operating a repetitive production line, so the ability to problem-solve, interpret drawings and adapt to different builds is particularly important.
You should be comfortable taking ownership of the workshop, setting standards for the team and ensuring that jobs leave production on time, correctly assembled and to the required quality.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, leads by example and continually looks for ways to make production safer, more organised and more efficient.
