Barnardo's Isle of Wight Family Hubs are looking for a friendly, organised and professional Administrator/Receptionist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting children, young people and families by providing a welcoming front-of-house service and high-quality administrative support in our family hubs.
As the first point of contact for visitors, parents, carers and partner agencies, you will help create a positive and inclusive experience for everyone accessing our services.
About the Role
The Administrator/Receptionist will provide efficient reception and administrative support across Family Hub services. The successful candidate will ensure visitors receive a warm welcome, enquiries are handled professionally, and administrative processes support the effective delivery of services to local families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a professional and friendly reception service for visitors and service users.
- Act as the first point of contact for telephone, email and face-to-face enquiries.
- Manage appointments, bookings and room schedules.
- Maintain accurate records and databases in line with data protection requirements.
- Process referrals and service information efficiently and accurately.
- Undertake general administrative duties including filing, photocopying, scanning and document management.
- Work collaboratively with Family Hub team and partner organisations.
- Ensure confidentiality and safeguarding procedures are always followed.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is friendly welcoming, approachable and solution focussed
- Has previous experience in an administrative and/or receptionist role.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Is confident using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Can organise and prioritise a varied workload effectively.
- Has strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Works well as part of a team and independently.
- Understands the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding.
- Has a positive, flexible and welcoming approach.
(Please note applicants must demonstrate their ability to travel across the Isle of Wight as there is a requirement to work each week from all 3 family hub sites as required)
working hours are Monday-Friday 8.45-4.30 per week.
