Punk Against Poverty CIC is looking for a reliable and organised volunteer to help us create listings for our online shops.
The role involves selecting suitable donated items, photographing them, researching brands and prices, writing accurate descriptions and uploading listings to Vinted & Ebay.
Income from our online sales helps fund our work supporting local children, families and individuals experiencing poverty across Torbay.
This is an unpaid volunteer role. It is not a paid vacancy and we are unable to offer visa sponsorship or sponsorship opportunities for overseas applicants.
Main responsibilities
● Selecting suitable clothing, footwear, homeware and accessories for online sale
● Checking items carefully for marks, smells, damage or missing parts
● Photographing items clearly
● Researching brands, styles and resale values
● Writing clear and accurate descriptions
● Measuring garments where required
● Uploading and pricing listings on Vinted
● Keeping listed and unlisted stock organised
● Helping prepare sold items for posting
● Keeping the work area tidy
About you
We are looking for someone who:
● Is confident using a smartphone and apps
● Has good attention to detail
● Can write clearly and accurately
● Is reliable and organised
● Can work independently once shown what to do
● Has an interest in clothing, brands, vintage fashion or second-hand selling
● Is comfortable working in a busy and informal charity-shop environment
● Supports the aims and values of Punk Against Poverty
Experience using Vinted, eBay, Depop or another online selling platform would be helpful but is not essential.
Knowledge of clothing brands, vintage items or resale pricing would also be an advantage.
Hours and location
The role is based at our charity shop in St Marychurch, Torquay.
We are looking for someone who can volunteer during daytime opening hours. Days and hours can be discussed, although we would prefer someone who can commit to a regular weekly shift.
Important information
This is a voluntary, unpaid position.
Applicants must already have the right to volunteer in the UK. Punk Against Poverty CIC cannot provide visa sponsorship, work sponsorship, relocation support or sponsorship for overseas applicants.
This role is based in Torquay and must be carried out in person.
