Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) with flatbed capabilities to transport scaffolding materials across various locations.
- Load and unload scaffolding components with precision, ensuring secure placement for transit and delivery.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to guarantee optimal safety and performance.
- Plan delivery routes efficiently, adhering to schedules and traffic regulations to meet project deadlines.
- Assist with the secure loading and unloading of cargo, utilizing appropriate lifting techniques and equipment.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs, manifests, and delivery notes.
- Communicate effectively with site managers, supervisors, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any logistical issues promptly.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed trucks or similar vehicles.
- Previous delivery driver experience within construction or scaffolding sectors is highly desirable.
- Valid HGV Class 2 license with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of safe load securing practices for scaffolding materials.
- Familiarity with route planning, GPS navigation, and traffic regulations relevant to commercial driving.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and understand maintenance needs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and timely deliveries.
- Must be physically fit due to the demands of this role.
- Some scaffold yard work involved.
