Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our care home team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, supporting their daily needs, and ensuring their comfort and well-being. Duties
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Develop and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals
- Supervise and support junior staff members, ensuring high standards of care are maintained
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to the appropriate healthcare team
- Encourage social interaction and organise activities to promote mental and physical stimulation
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, adhering to organisational policies and procedures
- Support residents with medication management in accordance with prescribed instructions
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure personalised care delivery
- Assist with driving duties when necessary, including transporting residents to appointments or outings
Experience
- Previous experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior care is essential
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Knowledge of care plans, health & safety regulations, and safeguarding procedures is required
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are vital for effective interaction with residents and team members
- IT literacy skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation are necessary
- Driving experience or possession of a valid driving licence is advantageous but not mandatory
