As a Lab & Automation Technician, you'll be at the heart of our high-throughput scientific services operation. You'll keep our advanced automated platforms running at peak performance, support cell line engineering projects, and play a hands-on role in delivering exceptional results for our clients.
This is a shift-based role (day/evening rota), ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced lab environment and takes pride in precision, reliability, and continuous improvement.
About The Role
Automation & Instrumentation
Operate and support cutting-edge automated platforms
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting and uptime optimisation across screening technologies
Contribute to the development and improvement of automation workflows
Cell Biology & Molecular Science
Culture, maintain and preparecell linesfor screening and cell line engineering activities
SupportPCR and molecular biology workflows, contributing to Cell Line Engineering service projects
Follow established protocols to the highest quality standards
Lab Operations
Manage reagent preparation and dispensing, consumable stock, and sample handling
Keep the lab organised, efficient and fully compliant withH&S, Quality and Regulatory requirements
Accurately document all activities in line with data integrity and quality systems
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work alongside scientists, technicians and operational teams to hit project milestones and exceed customer expectations
Actively contribute ideas to improve lab processes and best practices across Revvity's Cambridge site
About You
Education & Background:
BSc or MSc in Biotechnologyand/or a recognised Scientific qualification (e.g. Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology)
Recent graduates or early-career professionals looking to build their expertise in a high-tech lab environment
Technical Skills:
Interest in or hands-on experience with lab automation, robotic platforms, or automated laboratory equipment
Familiarity with mammalian cell culture techniques and maintenance
Basic understanding of molecular biology techniques such as PCR and sample preparation
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation and data integrity
Personal Attributes:
Eagerness to learn: you're curious, proactive, and excited to develop new technical skills
Team player: you thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working alongside scientists, technicians, and operational teams
Flexible and adaptable — comfortable supporting multiple lab functions and taking on new challenges

Shift Pattern: 5-week rolling rota: 4 weeks of day shifts (8am-4pm, Mon-Fri) plus 1 week of 7-day late shifts.
