Duties
- Lead and coordinate the daily activities of housekeeping staff to ensure high-quality cleaning services across all areas of the facility
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules, procedures, and standards aligned with health and safety regulations
- Monitor cleaning supplies inventory, place orders as needed, and manage budget allocations for supplies and equipment
- Conduct regular inspections to verify cleanliness, safety compliance, and maintenance of equipment
- Train new team members on proper cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and customer service expectations
- Collaborate with management to address any facility issues promptly and efficiently
- Foster a positive team environment by motivating staff, providing feedback, and encouraging professional development
Experience
- Proven experience in care home housekeeping role with demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Previous experience working in healthcare environments is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of COSHH, cleaning chemicals, equipment operation, and safety standards in a professional setting
- Familiarity with care home hygiene protocols and infection control practices is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Ability to train staff on best practices while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
