We are recruiting Family support Worker to join our Residential Family Assessment Centre in Southampton.
We support children and families with complex needs and offer flexible shifts across days and nights.

About the Role
As a Family support Worker , you will support families during intensive residential assessments. You will observe, guide, safeguard, and help families establish safe routines while contributing to evidence‑based assessment processes.
Your role will include:
- Supporting families with routines, boundaries, and daily care.
- Monitoring child safety and responding to safeguarding concerns.
- Completing accurate written observations and incident reports.
- Maintaining a calm, professional environment at all times.
- Working collaboratively with the wider team, including social workers and assessment practitioners.
- Providing support during either day or night shifts depending on availability.
What We’re Looking For Qualifications:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – essential.
- Willingness to work towards further qualifications – desirable.
Experience:
- Experience working with children and families (residential, safeguarding, or social care settings).
- Experience in family assessment is a bonus but not required.
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Ability to remain calm, confident, and professional in challenging situations.
- Excellent communication and observation skills.
- Compassionate, reliable, and committed to child‑centred practice.
