Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality support to individuals in care homes and home care settings, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be organised, and have a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives. Prior experience in care environments is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. The position offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment where your skills can develop further.
Duties
- Assisting residents or clients with daily activities such as personal care, mobility, and medication reminders
- Supporting individuals with their care plans tailored to their specific needs
- Providing companionship and emotional support to enhance their quality of life
- Maintaining accurate records of care provided using IT systems
- Communicating effectively with team members, residents, and family members to ensure seamless care delivery
- Assisting with household tasks such as light cleaning and meal preparation when required
- Adhering to health and safety protocols at all times to ensure a safe environment for everyone
- The shift pattern is 7.30am - 2.30pm and 2.30pm to 9.30pm
We work on a two week rota, the candidate should be flexible and able to work alternative weekends as well as alternative hours as and when required during sickness and holiday absences.
Experience
- Previous experience working within a care home or providing home care is desirable but not mandatory; full training will be offered to suitable candidates
- Good command of English, both spoken and written, for effective communication
- Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and updating care plans
- Strong communication skills to interact empathetically with clients and team members
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
