Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic and MOT Tester to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and emissions standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for automotive technology and a commitment to quality workmanship. This position is suited to an experienced Mechanic and MOT tester who is motivated, self reliant and has a range of mechanical skills.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify faults and issues
- Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, brakes, suspension, exhausts, and other vehicle systems
- Carry out MOT testing in accordance with legal requirements and industry standards
- Use hand tools and power tools efficiently to complete repairs and diagnostics
- Maintain accurate records of work carried out and parts used
- Assist in diagnosing complex mechanical problems using specialised equipment
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations
- Assist with vehicle road tests to verify repairs and adjustments
- Keep the workshop clean, organised, and safe at all times
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems and components
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling parts or components
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to diagnostics and repairs
- Valid MOT tester certification
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good communication skills to explain repairs and findings clearly to customers

Pay is based on experience and knowledge.
Working week of 44 hours, 8:30am til 5:30pm Monday to Friday and 8:30am til 12:30pm Saturdays.
Pay: From £35,000.00 per year
