Adman Int Ltd – Fire Door Installers
Adman Passive Fire Protection are looking for experienced Fire door Installers to work on several projects throughout Renfrewshire, Glasgow, Ayrshire, Lanarkshire and across Scotland.
Based in the heart of Paisley at the Abbey Mill Business Centre this thriving business is working with clients across Scotland in Construction, Education, Transport, Health, Social Housing and Retail.
The Role:
To install, repair, maintain, and remediate fire doors and associated ironmongery in accordance with manufacturer instructions, BM TRADA/Q-Mark requirements, and relevant UK fire safety legislation and standards. The role is critical to maintaining the integrity of fire compartmentation within residential, commercial, healthcare, education, and public sector buildings.
Key Responsibilities
- Install fire door sets and fire door assemblies to the required fire resistance standard (FD30, FD60, etc.).
- Carry out fire door remedial works, including adjustment of door leaves and frames.
- Install and maintain fire-rated ironmongery such as closers, hinges, locks, latches, seals, viewers, and signage.
- Ensure all works comply with:
- Building Regulations Approved Document B (England & Wales) and/or Scottish Building Standards.
- BS 8214: Timber-based fire door assemblies.
- Manufacturer installation instructions.
- BM TRADA Q-Mark or equivalent third-party certification requirements.
- Read and interpret drawings, schedules, specifications, and fire door survey reports.
- Record completed works using company inspection forms, digital reporting systems, and photographic evidence.
- Identify defects or non-compliances and report them to site management.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working area at all times.
- Liaise professionally with tenants, clients, site managers, and other trades.
- Attend toolbox talks, training courses, and competency assessments as required.
- Comply with company health and safety procedures, including PPE and site-specific rules
About You:
- Minimum: NVQ/SVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Joinery, Carpentry, Construction, Fire Protection, or Building Maintenance.
- Can do attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Punctual and reliable.
- Available to start immediately.
- Own transport preferred
Desirable Qualifications:
- NVQ/SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery.
- FIRAS, BM TRADA Q-Mark, FDIS, or equivalent fire door training/certification.
- CSCS card (Blue or Gold preferred).
- PASMA, IPAF, or asbestos awareness training.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Work in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.
- Report accidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and defective equipment immediately.
- Ensure tools and equipment are inspected and fit for use.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily site-based work with travel across the UK.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet programme requirements.
- Manual handling and working at height may be involved.
Performance Measures
- Quality of installation and compliance with fire door standards.
- First-time pass rate on inspections and audits.
- Productivity against programme targets.
- Accuracy and completeness of installation records.
- Health and safety compliance.

Remuneration:
£25 per hour.
37.5 hours working week (Monday to Friday) Travel is sometimes required.
