Job Summary
Nolvera Ltd is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Family Support Worker to join our Client team. The successful candidate will provide vital assistance and guidance to families facing various challenges, fostering a supportive environment that promotes positive outcomes. This role involves working closely with families to offer emotional support, practical advice, and resource connection, ensuring children and adults receive the necessary care and support. The position is paid and offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference within the community.
Responsibilities
- Undertake direct work with children and families experiencing crisis situations, including:
- Poor home conditions
- Domestic abuse
- Parental substance misuse
- Physical, sexual, and emotional abuse
- Complete home visits to children and families within 24 hours of allocation where required.
- Support Section 47 Child Protection enquiries through direct intervention and information gathering.
- Demonstrate professional curiosity and identify emerging risks, escalating concerns promptly to Social Workers and Team Managers.
- Provide timely and accurate feedback to managers, ensuring actions are completed within required timescales.
- Maintain clear, accurate, and comprehensive case recordings in line with statutory and organisational standards.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
- Manage a demanding workload while maintaining high standards of safeguarding practice.
Experience
- Previous experience working within social services, community support, or related fields is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse families
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases effectively
- Empathy, patience, and a non-judgemental attitude are essential qualities for success in this role
- Knowledge of local community resources and social policies is advantageous but not mandatory
Essential Requirements
- Experience in a Family Support Worker role.
- Ability to undertake home visits across the service area.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred due to the high volume of visits and intervention work. Please note that many visits are within the Clean Air Zone.
- Enhanced DBS check.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Pay: £13.91 per hour
