Job description
Llanerchrugog Hall is a small and friendly residential care home for adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs. The service emphasises active participation in-house and the wider community and is run like a large house in the community. We have a low turnover of staff and are currently increasing hires.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend shift on time and according to the rota. Morning shifts are 7am to 2pm and Afternoon shifts are 2pm to 9pm, Night Shifts are 9pm to 7am.
- Work 20-42 hours a week averaged over two weeks and this includes working every other weekend and/or nights. The rota is fixed to help plan life around work and pay is weekly.
- Attend and complete induction and all training provided by the company.
- Complete shift records and assigned reports.
- Support house-keeping activities such as cleaning and laundry, where appropriate with the individuals.
- Support personal care needs in line with personal plans.
- Work in the kitchen including cooking and helping to manage the workspace.
- Support the undertaking of activities on-site and off-site.
- Administer any medication requirements on completion of training.
- Either have or be willing to obtain registration with Social Care Wales as an Adult Care Home Worker and maintain this.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 1 year in care setting [desirable].
- Also open to applicants seeking a career change.
SKILLS:
- Patience and willingness to empathise and understand the needs of service users.
- General house keeping skills.
- Good communication skills, written and verbal.
- Good time keeping skills and ability to self-manage for parts of shift.
EDUCATION:
- NVQ Level 2 or Diploma Level 2 in Health and Social Care [desirable]. However free training and support will be provided for applicants to achieve this.
- Willingness to undertake Level 2 Diploma upon starting and to register with Social Care Wales as an adult care home worker [essential].
