Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Plater to join our manufacturing team in Stockton, you will operate appropriate equipment to join together structural steel components or parts with a great deal of precision. This role is important as it provides the foundation for strong infrastructure. You will be competent in using precision tools and potentially dangerous equipment whilst following all safety precautions set by the company.
Duties
- Fabricate structural steel components from engineers drawings and in line with company procedures
- To ensure that all work is completed in a safe manner ensuring no detrimental impact to personnel, fabric or environment
- To deliver a high quality, consistent and competent service in accordance with project/company requirements, standards and procedures
- Take reasonable care of the health and safety of themselves and take any precautions necessary to ensure the safety of themselves and others affected by their work
- Read, understand and implement all applicable company/project policies, working practices and procedures, ensuring at all times that the plating/structural work is completed safely and to a high standard
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not comprise safety or the preservation of the equipment
- Complete rework under the instruction of the dimensional inspector
- Apply weld preps where applicable from drawing specifications
- Use company software to input production times to contribute to the continuous improvement of the business
- Use initiative to contribute to smooth workflow of production where applicable
- Use of overhead crane to move material through the workshop
- Submission of the daily and weekly inspections and timesheets to the office for administration
- Any other appropriate duties under the direction of the workshop manager or delegated person, applicable to the qualifications of the post.
Ability to work both alone and in a team
Fabrication and Welding experience - minimum 2 years
Overhead crane
Structural Steel manufacturing experience/knowledge
Hours Mon - Thurs. 06.00 - 16.30
