JMF Windows & Doors is a growing, family-run business specialising in the supply and installation of high-quality windows, doors, and glazing products. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and reliable Window & Door Surveyor to join our team.
The Role
The primary responsibility of this role is to carry out accurate site surveys for windows, doors, and glazing projects to ensure a smooth handover from sales to installation. You will work closely with customers, installers, and suppliers to ensure all measurements and specifications are correct.
The ideal candidate will have practical experience within the window and door industry and be comfortable working independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct accurate site surveys for windows, doors, conservatories, and glazing products.
- Take detailed measurements and assess installation requirements.
- Identify and report any potential installation issues or site challenges.
- Complete survey paperwork and technical specifications accurately.
- Liaise with customers professionally and provide guidance where required.
- Order products and materials from suppliers when necessary.
- Support the installation team with technical advice and specifications.
- Ensure all surveys comply with current industry standards and regulations.
- Maintain company records and documentation.
Additional Skills (Desirable)
While surveying will be the main focus of the role, the ideal candidate may also be able to:
- Replace sealed glass units.
- Carry out minor glazing repairs.
- Service and adjust windows and doors.
- Attend small remedial jobs when required.
Requirements
- Previous experience surveying windows and doors is essential.
- Strong knowledge of uPVC, aluminium, timber and composite window and door systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Competent with basic paperwork and digital reporting systems.
