Tiber Centre is a modern, fully accessible community venue in Liverpool L8, created with the ambition of providing world-class facilities that raise aspirations and support local young people and the wider community.
The Centre includes education and training rooms, indoor and outdoor event and performance spaces, changing facilities, a basketball court and access to Tiber’s 3G artificial turf pitch.
About the Role
We are looking for an organised, proactive and experienced Event Venue Manager to lead the operational delivery of events at Tiber Centre.
You will oversee a diverse range of events, including corporate conferences, social celebrations, entertainment events and cultural festivals. You will be responsible for coordinating events from initial client planning through to on-the-day delivery, while leading event teams, overseeing food and beverage operations and maintaining high standards of customer service, safety and venue presentation.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys hospitality, events, working with clients and taking ownership of venue operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate events from initial client consultation through to delivery.
- Conduct venue show-arounds and help convert enquiries into bookings.
- Develop event plans, timelines, floor plans, seating arrangements, menus and drinks packages.
- Build strong relationships with new and existing clients and help generate repeat business.
- Identify appropriate upselling opportunities across venue, food and drink packages.
- Coordinate external suppliers, including photographers, musicians, florists and décor providers.
- Lead event teams and delegate responsibilities to ensure smooth event delivery.
- Oversee venue setup, guest arrival and on-the-day event operations.
- Supervise food and beverage services and provide hands-on bar support when required.
- Manage beverage stock, deliveries, storage and stocktakes.
- Maintain excellent front-of-house and back-of-house venue presentation.
- Identify and report maintenance requirements.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, licensing, risk management and allergen requirements.
- Secure the venue following events.
- Support marketing activity, including social media content and tracking enquiries and conversions.
About You
We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and passionate about hospitality and events.
Essential experience and skills:
- Previous experience in event management, including event planning, delivery and bookings.
- Experience using systems to manage or track bookings.
- Experience in bar management.
- Experience working with external suppliers.
- Budget management experience.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A proactive approach to managing clients and developing bookings.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
- Strong planning, organisation and self-management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of event-industry trends.
- Knowledge of health & safety requirements and best practice within event management.
- Minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent), including English Language and Maths.
