Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Cake Maker to join our Hanley team baking cakes for our café and farm shop. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating beautifully decorated and delicious cakes, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a love for baking and food artistry to develop their skills within a kitchen environment. The Cake Maker will play a key role in delivering exceptional baked goods that delight our customers and our reputation for excellence.
Duties
- Prepare and bake a variety of cakes and traybakes according to recipes and specifications
- Ensure all baked goods are produced in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Assist in the development of new cake flavours to keep offerings innovative and appealing
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the baking area, including equipment and utensils
- Monitor ingredient stock levels and notify management when supplies need replenishing
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of orders and high-quality presentation
- Follow all health and safety procedures within the kitchen environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food production, food preparation, or baking, preferably within a bakery or café setting
- Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in a commercial kitchen environment
- Previous experience working in a kitchen or restaurant is desirable but not essential for highly motivated candidates willing to learn
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
