Shivers Group Ltd is a growing specialist company supporting, operating and developing data centres and critical infrastructure. We deliver mission-critical mechanical and cooling solutions for Tier III/IV facilities and large-scale plant across the UK and Europe.
We are looking for an experienced Senior HVAC Engineer with a strong focus on DX systems to join our team. This is a hands-on technical role supporting service, maintenance and reactive works on critical cooling plant.
The Role
You will take a lead role in the service, maintenance and repair of DX systems, ensuring high levels of reliability for our clients’ critical environments. The position combines practical engineering work with technical problem-solving and mentoring of less experienced team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnosing, servicing and maintaining DX systems across data centre and critical infrastructure sites
- Carrying out brazing, refrigerant recovery and handling in line with current regulations
- Performing compressor replacements and associated system works
- Delivering planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support
- Completing accurate paperwork, risk assessments and method statements
- Supporting the wider engineering team with technical guidance on DX systems
- Ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of safety and quality
About You
You will be a time-served HVAC / refrigeration engineer with substantial experience of DX systems. Strong practical skills in brazing, refrigerant recovery, compressor replacement and general service & maintenance are essential. You must hold a current F-Gas qualification and be comfortable working on critical sites where uptime is paramount. A proactive, professional approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are required. Previous experience in data centres or other mission-critical environments would be a distinct advantage.
Location & Working Arrangements
The role is based from our office in Polegate, East Sussex, with regular travel to client sites across the UK & Europe. A full UK driving licence is required.
